Ballensky Red Angus Cattle Home Page

Ballensky Red Angus is a family farming and ranching operation located in Southeastern Montana. Mike and Darlene began using Red Angus herd sires for their commercial cow herd in 1980. Since they had always maintained individual records on their cow herd, it seemed a natural progression to begin registering cows. They joined the National Red Angus Association in 1988, and have built a high percentage Red Angus herd based on disposition, calving ease, and strong maternal traits in an efficient animal.

An Annual Bull Sale is held the 3rd Tuesday in March at the Miles City Livestock Commission where the top cut of 25 to 30 yearlings bulls are sold.

Open yearling heifers have been sold for the past four years the 2nd Tuesday in March at the Trailhead Replacement Heifer Show and Sale in Miles City. Among all breeds, Ballensky Red Angus had the top placed pen in 1999, 2000 and 2001. In 1998, 2000 and 2001 they had the high selling heifers by head.
