Then and Now

What's it like to be a senior?

The senior class of 1970 answered a questionnaire designed to find out how much they have changed since they entered SHHS as freshmen.

Would you believe that the seniors have grown 5'7''? Statistically each senior should have grown 21 inches but some reported that they haven't grown at all. Susan Lacosta, Cathi Morris and Patti Whitney all report that their heights have stayed the same. Lori Berg and Lee Schaefer have grow the least, only 1 inch each and Gerald Chapweske has grown the most, 9 inches.

As a freshman, Ed Kaiser's plan for the future was "Oh, nothing." Now as a senior and a more mature young man, he knows exactly where he is headed. Ed says that in the future he will “do something."

Mike Lester said that if he could relive his high school years, he would improve them by getting into more trouble. It seems he is trying even now. A week ago, he maliciously ran off with Susan's pencil case!

Jane Schantz feels that coke fountains instead of water fountains would most improve our school. Her questionnaire contained some other thoughtful answers too: “The most important event of my life was the first time I parked." Later she explained that she meant when she was taking Drivers Training.

Haven't our seniors changed a lot since they were freshmen?
