The A-squad cheerleaders led the pregame bonfire at Denton Field. Father James Reynolds and student council
vice-president Mike Lester conducted the halftime program. The queen and her court
received roses from Mary Jo Mahan and Mary Terhaar, pep club officers. Wayne Perkins, CCHS student body president, presented a dozen red roses to the queen. From Jerry Kimball, senior class vice-president, she received a certificate for a full-length portrait of herself. Team captain and Key Club president, Gerald Chapweske, gave the queen a helmet autographed by the football players and a gift
certificate from the Key Club. The Alumni and students attended a dance in the gym after the game. The
royalty's escorts for the evening were John Crone, Gerald Chapweske, Don St. Peter, Lee Schaeffer, Tom Gapay, Joe Peila, Ed
Kaiser and Ronald Devlin. Alumni members Dick Doyle, Chester Meyer, Steve
Muggli, Bob Graham and Joe Urick drove the candidates' convertibles.
