| Sacred Heart to present thriller at Barn theater By Janice Munsell SHHS Correspondent Sacred Heart's presentation of "Nine Girls" demonstrates considerable finesse in the art of acting. Lori Berg portrays the sweet, lovable young lady who is driven to madness by circumstance. After the death of Paul Canfield, her best friend Alice, played by Darlene Biegalke becomes suspicious but before she can do anything she too becomes a missing person. When Mary Killen (or Eve) begins asking questions, she too meets strange opposition. Is the murderer or murderess an outsider? Alise Anderson, portraying Freida, the communist sympathizer; Jean Terhaar, as Shotput, the athletic member of the sorority; as well as Susan Lacosta (Glamourpuss) who gets on everyone's nerves, and level-headed Jane, portrayed by Cathi Morris, react to this Question. |
With two pledges (Leila Hartman and Mary Jo Mahan) to protect and two deaths to explain to the police, the girls have an
evening of suspense on their hands. This play, which has been termed the best all-girl suspense drama is just that. Sister Annette, the director of the play, considers it one of the fun dramas she has ever directed. The Play is to be presented at the Barn Players, Inc., theater on Highway 10 west just across from the Range Riders Museum. Performances are set for Friday and Sunday nights at 7:30. the "split" schedule is because of a conflict of other events such as the school's football game on Saturday night. Since nights are chilly these days. there will be heat in the building for the nights of the play. |
