Mike's Past 30 Years

Mike was living in Miles City where he was the head coach for the Mavericks Legion Baseball team and working at Coast to Coast. He was engaged to Marietta Rasmussen of Presho, SD and they were going to move to Lewiston, ID after their August wedding. He had accepted a position as the Men's Dormitory Director and Assistant Baseball Coach at Lewis-Clark State College.

Mike and Marietta were living in Alva, OK where he was the Assistant Professor of Health and Physical Education at Northwestern Okalahoma State U. They had completed their family of 4 kids, Justin-8, Kyle-5, Kelsey-3, and Shawn-1 (except for the dog, Spike, whom they acquired the following year! He definitely is a part of the family!).

Mike is the chair of the Sport Science, Physical Education and Dance Department at Idaho State University. He teaches the science-based courses in their undergraduate curriculum (Exercise Physiology & Biomechanics) and also a variety of courses in their Master's Program in Athletic Administration (Sports Medicine, Issues in Athletic Administration, etc.) Marietta works for the Pocatello School system in the food services program. Most of their social activities revolve around their kid's various activities.

Wedded Bliss "or Not" and Progeny "or Not"

Mike and Marietta will be married for 20 years in August, 2000. They have 3 boys and 1 girl.

Justin-18 was a junior at Highland High School this past year and participated in basketball and baseball. He is an excellent student and is considering some type of agri-business program in a college. He has gone back every summer to work on Marietta's brothers farm/ranch in Presho, South Dakota.
Kyle-15 was a 9th grader at Franklin Junior High and also received excellent grades this year. He participated in soccer, basketball, and baseball.
Kelsey-13 was a 7th grader at Franklin Junior High and received all "A's this past year. She participated in soccer, basketball, softball, and dance.
Shawn-11 was a 5th grader at Gate City Elementary this past year and also did very well in school. He participated in soccer, basketball, and baseball.

Parents and Siblings

Mike's dad passed away in 1994 at the age of 67 in Miles City. He had retired from the railroad in 1988 in Burlington, Wisconsin. His parents had moved back to Miles City after his Dad's retirement.
His mother, Bev, still lives in Miles City.
Both of Mike's brothers, Brian and Mark, currently live in Miles City and both work for a beverage distributor (Can't think of the name right now, but I know that they are the Budweiser distributor in that area!)
Marietta's parents have retired from their farm/ranch and still live in Presho, South Dakota.

30 YEAR CHRONOLOGICAL VIEW???

1970-71: Attended MCC in Miles City.
1971-73: Attended Bellevue Community College in Bellevue, Washington. Played baseball for 2 years there.
1973-74: Attended University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Played baseball there until I blew out my knee!
1974-76: Attended Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. Played final year of college baseball there. Graduated with a B.S. degree in Physical Education. Played baseball in Alberta, Canada during the summer of 75.
1976-78: Attended University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Received a M.S. degree in Physical Education.
1978-80: Returned to Miles City. Worked at Coast to Coast and coached the Mavericks American Legion team.
1980-81: Men's dormitory director & assistant baseball coach at Lewis-Clark State College, Lewiston, Idaho.
1981-85: Lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where I completed my Ed.D. degree in Higher Education, Physical Education. Justin was born in 1981. Kyle was born in 1985.
1985-88: Lived in Oakland City, Indiana. I was the Athletic Director, Physical Education Chair, and head Baseball Coach at Oakland City College. Kelsey was born in 1987.
1988-90: Lived in Alva, Oklahoma. I taught in the Physical Education department at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Shawn was born in 1989.
1990-00: Live in Pocatello, Idaho. Taught in the Health, Physical Education & Dance department at Idaho State University. I have been the chair of the Sport Science, Physical Education & Dance department for the last 2 years. No more children have been born, but we did acquire Spike (our dog) in 1991! He's a chow-Irish setter (and who knows what else!) mix!!!

I am sorry to say that I will not be able to make
the reunion during the scheduled dates.
My vehicle is having some transmission problems
and don't think that I want to risk being stranded
in Montana somewhere along the highway!
I hope to be able to make a trip in early August
to Miles City to see my mother and brothers...
after I get the auto problems solved!
